Oxford & Cambridge Club

Feb 25th saw a return to the beautiful Oxford & Cambridge Club in Mayfair, where the club members were hosting their annual St David’s Day Dinner, with the Gwalia providing the entertainment. The pre-dinner set consisted of a varied mix of English and Welsh to set a Welsh tone, while the after dinner set involved a rousing programme in which the audience were provided with lyric sheets and invited to participate in some Welsh classics.

Under the leadership of Wyn Hyland, the majority of the audience joined in and gave a very good account of themselves.

The happy and appreciative guests and the Gwalia then retired to the Members Bar where many reunions of past friendships were rekindled, with more informal singing and much drinking carried on to the late hours.

Many thanks to the Oxford & Cambridge for inviting us once again, and many thanks for the wonderful hospitality both in the dining room and the bar.
