Political Discussions at the LWC

On the 22nd of November, the Gwalia were asked to sing at an event organised by Plaid Cymru at the London Welsh Centre on the 22nd November 2022. This was an open meeting, particularly with Welsh students at the constituent colleges of London University in mind. It was entitled ‘Why are we in this state?’ and featured Lord Dafydd Wigley and the Plaid Cymru leader in the House of Commons, Liz Saville Roberts, who spoke before an interesting Q&A session.

The choir provided song sheets for the audience, and after a number of songs sung by the choir, expertly introduced by our Chairman, Richard Hopkin, and after the speeches, there was an opportunity for audience participation, including a particularly stirring rendition of " Yma o Hyd.”
