Tribute Concert at The Soho Hotel

At last, after the long list of Covid-postponed events, the Gwalia have returned to performing live engagements.

The first of which saw the choir perform on July 31st at The Soho Hotel, Richmond Mews W1, This intimate evening was arranged by family, friends and work colleagues of Oury Clark [Solicitors and Accountants based in Slough and London]. It was held as a party/memorial tribute to the much-loved Huw Williams who was a Partner in the company, and had recently passed away far too soon at the age of 39.

The evening started off with some wonderfully  touching music and film accolades from his family, friends and colleagues, both serious and humorous, which referred to his life and ‘larger than life’ character. The Gwalia closed the evening with a short selection of Welsh and English songs before being invited to accompany the congregation to share a few drinks and nibbles whilst also listening to the many stories of Huw’s life and how much this wonderfully vibrant character had enriched their own lives.

By the end of the evening, the choir felt we had all got to know him quite well.

God Bless!
